For Sunday 11 and Monday 12 October
Dry south of the Alps, rain in Germany today and Slovenia tomorrow
Sunday and Monday stay dry across most of the Alps, with the best dirt south of the main ridge in Ticino, Valais, the Italian Alps and the southern French Alps. The rain sits on the edges. The German parks get soaked today, and Carinthia and Slovenia take their turn tomorrow. North of the Alps the ground is still wet, and only some of it will recover quickly.
Ticino and the Italian Alps stay dry
Ticino is the safest bet for both days: no rain and highs up to around 18 °C. Ascona - Corona dei Pinci leads at 71, with Monte Bar at 70 and Airolo Bikepark at 69, all hero dirt. Ascona and Monte Bar drain faster than most of our parks, so they should hold their shape.
The Italian Alps tell the same story. Val di Sole Bikepark, Pinzolo, Pontedilegno - Tonale and Sellaronda MTB Area are all hero dirt, and Breuil-Cervinia has tipped into dry at 75. Bikepark Paganella shows a 50 percent chance of showers both days but no measurable rain. In Liguria, Finale Ligure Enduro Region is in hero dirt at around 19 °C, though gusts reach around 50 km/h on Monday.
Valais and the southern French Alps shine
Zermatt Bikepark at 71 and Saas-Grund at 69 head a dry Valais, with Aletsch Arena Bikepark and Bellwald Bikepark at 65. Aletsch and Bellwald hold very little water, so they stay firm. Saas-Grund dips just below freezing tonight, so early laps will be cold.
In France, Serre Chevalier Bikepark is the best at 74 and now dry, with highs near 20 °C on Monday. It is among the sunniest and fastest-drying parks we track, so it will only get firmer. Les Orres Bikepark at 70 and Les 2 Alpes Bikepark at 66 are prime hero dirt. In Graubünden, Poschiavo and Disentis Sedrun are the picks at 66 and 65.
Northern Switzerland and the Austrian west stay soft
North of the Alps there is no measurable rain, even with chances up to 70 percent today around Brunni-Alpthal, and Monday is clear. Yet many parks are still wet: Zug, Hoch Ybrig, Flumserberg and Brunni all sit at 20.
Recovery will differ. Zug and Zürich Uetliberg drain faster than most of our parks and should improve on Monday. Engelberg-Titlis holds water on shady slopes and will stay soft longer, as will Mürren-Schilthorn and Grindelwald-Wengen, which hold more water than nearly any park we track.
The northern French Alps and western Austria are slow too: Les Gets Bikepark is at 33, Brandnertal Bikepark is wet at 23 and holds water, and Bike Republic Sölden is the best in Tyrol at 53.
Rain and wind in Germany today
Germany takes the heaviest rain today: around 11 mm at Bikepark Winterberg and around 6 mm at Bikepark Willingen, with gusts in the mid 50s km/h. Willingen is hero dirt at 56 and Winterberg variable at 52, but both hold water more than most of our parks, so expect softer trails afterwards. Monday is dry but still breezy.
Bikepark Geißkopf gets under 1 mm but is already wet at 20, with gusts near 57 km/h today.
Carinthia and Slovenia wet tomorrow
Today Bikepark Saalbach Hinterglemm gets around 4 mm on already wet trails, and Bikepark Leogang just over 1 mm; Leogang holds water, so it stays variable. Tomorrow the rain shifts to Carinthia: around 6 mm at Trailcenter Ossiacher See and around 5 mm at Gerlitzen PROlitzen, both hero dirt today. Ossiacher See drains quickly and should bounce back.
Bikepark Maribor Pohorje has the biggest total on the sheet, around 14 mm tomorrow after a near-dry Sunday. It drains faster than most of our parks, but today is the day to go.
Further afield: La Palma and Whistler
On La Palma, 3 to 4 mm today barely matters: these are the fastest-draining, sunniest parks we track. La Palma South is dry at 73 and the others are hero dirt, with highs of 20 to 27 °C and a dry Monday. Whistler Mountain stays dry both days in hero dirt at 65, warming to around 13 °C tomorrow.
